Mum was talking about her paternal grandfather and how he was the grandmaster of music for the Thai government/royal family and illiterate but able to compose music and all that cool stuff and then casually mentioned that he also practiced black magic.

mint has been feeling down and i think it’s the pressure of being immersed in an all-english school and struggling to keep up with peers who have english as a first language and being kinda separated from the other students because of it

and it sucks because i don’t think a lot of native-english speakers realise the advantages they get just from being fluent in the language? out of all the languages in the world, english is the most ‘valuable’. it provides the most cultural capital. so of course non-native speakers are going to try to learn it. but then of course you get a lot of people who aren’t really very willing to accommodate for someone whose english might be a little different or weaker.

i want to do some things to cheer her up but even though we’re basically family and get along really well we don’t spend a lot of time verbally discussing likes and dislikes.

i know she likes baking though! and cakes and sweets.

maybe i will make her some scones or something.

she also likes english men. …and BL. haha okay never mind I know what I need to do.

as long as you pretend to have an english accent while doing so. probably not a cockney one though.

yeaaahhh! :D it’s really good! there was leftover chicken stock from mum’s cooking so i fiddled with that and hoo boy

i’ve been craving potato and leek soup for a while because it’s getting chilly over here and this hits the spot

it’s just unfortunate that i started cooking so late because the freezer is outside and it’s all dark and aaaaa i couldn’t find the chicken necks to help with the stock

 and also to give to alaska because he loves those raw chicken necks numnumnum
